Rabbi Zvi Leshem made Aliyah from the United States in 1979. He studied at Yeshivat HaMivtar and was ordained by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. He later was a 'Jerusalem Fellow' and earned his PhD in Jewish Philosophy from Bar-Ilan University, specializing in Hasidism. He also studied with Rav Shagar at Yeshivat Siach Yitzhak. Rav Zvi served for several decades in Torah education, notably as the Associate Dean of “Nishmat” and as the Spiritual Leader of Congregation “Shirat Shlomo” in Efrat. He currently serves as the Director of the Gershom Scholem Collection for Kabbalah and Hasidism at the National Library of Israel. Rav Zvi is the author of 'Redemptions: Contemporary Chassidic Essays on the Parsha and the Festivals'. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife Julie.
